The following rules must be kept to and adhered to when introducing Pokémon species to the New Dodge settlement:

1. No Pokémon that can cause drastic changes to the environment, whether this be Weather Changes, Time Travel, or other such immense influence.

Example Pokémon: Celebi, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Arceus

2. Keep species to a minimum. Please do not bring swarms of Bug-type Pokémon, or flocks of Bird-types. There is a risk that the intruding species can overwhelm the native animal life, or cause damage to land/flora/fauna.

3. Perform research. There is an extensive Pokémon database available on the network. If using the Hopper, please consult a Pokémon specialist in the region you are visiting. This ensures that you are FULLY CAPABLE of taking care of your Pokémon's needs.

e.g. If a Pokémon requires that it needs metal ore in order to survive, please ensure you can provide the ore it needs.

4. Pokémon Training/Battles MUST NOT be performed near inhabited areas. This is important particularily for new Trainers. Pokémon have a wide variety of abilities from being able to breathe fire, to producing electricity. This can be dangerous for bystanders if the Pokémon/Trainer does not know how to utilise attacks correctly.

5. Pokémon must be trained. No Wild Pokémon may be brought into and released into New Dodge. All Pokémon must be registered using the Pokémon Registration System.

6. Care of Pokémon must be ensured. Please ensure that the needs of your Pokémon are met whilst they are here in New Dodge. Please see point 3. Care tips may also be sought from Professor Elm.

7. Release of Pokémon. Should you wish to release your Pokémon into the wild, please return it to it's region of origin and the route in which you captured it. Alternatively, please turn the Pokémon over to Professor Elm.

Hello! And welcome to the New Dodge Pokémon Registration System. This application allows the control and moderation of species introduced to the New Dodge settlement.

As with any species, introduction of a new breed to a new environment may cause issues with the current inhabitants. This registry is to document and record the population of Pokémon in New Dodge.

Please complete the below registration field for each Pokémon you own:

Queries about this system may be directed to Professor Elm, as well as general queries about Pokémon.

Hey, guys! Leon here, with his only muse who is not mentally unstable!

Over Friday, Professor Elm used the Hopper to visit home, but he didn't go back to Johto. Instead, he visited the region of Kanto, and has brought back the following, gifted by an old friend and colleague of his:

These monsters are Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. They are the Pokémon given out by Professor Oak of Pallet Town to new trainers.

These Pokémon are available to be distributed, HOWEVER. Professor Elm won't just entrust these creatures to anyone. They must meet the following critera.

ICly, they must have made a good impression on the professor, be seen as someone to be trusted with a monster of their own. Whilst Professor Elm is a good judge of character, this may take a few interactions.

OOCly, the Pokémon need to be reserved. Notify me via any contact method to stake interest.

So far, the following Pokémon are available to be claimed:

Also, as of this post, Professor Elm's Pokémon egg is going to hatch!

The Pokémon is going to be the Gen VI Pokémon Spritzee.

It's a Fairy-type, and the first one Elm will have seen, but it's still up for grabs. If anyone wants a baby Pokémon, lemme know.

My contact method is [plurk.com profile] youngflamelion, Blaze0010 on AIM or e-mail. You can also reply to this post, or PM any of my journals.

Player's Name: Leon
Are you over 16? Yes
Characters Played Here: Mack Gerhardt

Character: Professor Elm
Series/Canon: Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver [Game]
From When? Post-Game

History: Professor Elm @ Bulbapedia

Personality: Professor Elm is a highly credited Pokémon scientist, attributed to the study of abnormal abilities, the discovery of Pokémon Breeding, and, according to Professor Samuel Oak, is the best when it comes to Pokémon Evolution.

Despite all this high praise, however, the Professor is shown to be scatter-brained and disorganised when he gets into his work. He seems to be quite the workaholic, not going home for days at a time. This is partly due to the fact he only has one aide, but most likely due to his drive for knowledge.

Even though he often doesn't go home, Professor Elm seems like a doting father. His son wants to grow up to be a Pokémon Professor, and his wife shows considerable concern when her husband gets in a research frenzy.

He seems incredibly modest, only claiming to be the expert on Pokémon abilities, the other reports coming from other people. He holds Professor Oak in the highest regard, and likely does the same for his other colleagues in other regions.

Professor Elm is incredibly generous. He freely gives one of the three Johto Starter Pokémon, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Chikorita, to Ethan or Lyra to run an errand for him to Mr. Pokémon's house. Knowing they would need Pokémon to get to Route 31, he lets them keep the Pokémon afterwards. He also gifts Ethan or Lyra with a ticket for the S.S. Aqua to Kanto and the Master Ball. He is also shown to care a lot for the Pokémon in his care. When another Starter Pokémon is stolen from his lab, he's shown to be concerned for the Pokémon more than the break-in, and clearly blames himself.

All in all, Professor Elm is a kindly man who gets a bit too over his head at times. He is well learned in his chosen field, and delights in the ability to make new discoveries. He's modest about his knowledge, and is likely able to learn a lot more about different subjects quite easily.

Why do you think your character would work in this setting? Professor Elm is to be fluxed in and, initially, he'll be shell-shocked, as he rarely leaves New Bark Town due to being understaffed at the lab. Soon, however, he should settle into life in New Dodge.

He'll probably take on Library Supervisor or a position at the Research Centre. Perhaps both, with his research taking on a part-time basis.

Inventory: 6x Poké Balls (Containing: Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chikorita, Croconaw, Furret, Mareep), 2x Great Balls [Empty], PokéGear, 1x Egg Case (Containing: Unknown Pokémon Egg), Notes concerning Mega Evolution carelessly stuffed into the pocket of his lab coat, Trainer Card, 3,000 PokéDollars.

Samples: And now for the hard part! If you need a prompt for your samples, refer back to the Applications Page.

Third-Person Sample: Professor Elm on the Test Drive!

First-Person Sample: I've been in New Dodge for a while now, and I've come to learn that being here does not hinder Pokémon growth. It seems the six Pokémon I found myself here with are thriving and happy, and that is one load off my mind at least. From my research into Pokémon breeding, I have the required parents in order to start producing offspring, but I would rather find suitable trainers for the Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile first.

[Elm pauses in his scribbling as something butts against his head and he feels a slight tingling.] Okay, Mareep. Just ten more minutes and I'll feed you. You can wait that long, right? [The sheep-like Pokémon gives a bleat and trots off. Elm smiles and turns back to his writing.]

My notes on Mega Evolution also arrived with me, and I believe my reasoning for capturing a Mareep outside of Goldenrod City before fluxing to New Dodge is sound. From what Professor Sycamore says, Mareep may be capable of Mega Evolution. This warrants further research, however.

[A sigh as he closes his notebook, picking up the two Poké Balls off his desk.]

Let's get you guys fed, huh? I've formulated a new feed mix that'll help you become even stronger! I hope you like it...
